Erasmus+: l’ITIS “S. Cannizzaro” conclude in Turchia il progetto “I AM HERE TOO”.

Un ponte tra culture per costruire il cittadino europeo

From 22 to 26 September 2025, a team of teachers from the S. Cannizzaro Industrial Technical Institute, Mrs. Cinzia Melfa, Mrs. Donatella De Marco, and Mr. Gaetano Chiarenza, together along with school Principal, Mrs. Giuseppina Montella, took part in the fourth and final transnational mobility of the Erasmus+ project ‘I AM HERE TOO‘ (2023-1-MT01-KA210-SCH-000157809, which was hosted by the Aktepe Ortaokulu school in Denizli, Turkey.
During the Learning, Teaching, and Training Activities (LTTA) days, teachers from partner countries collaborated on various topics related to school inclusion. Activities ranged from effective communication exercises (the Effective Communication Game) to building positive relationships through symbols and number patterns (Symbolist and Number Patterns) and workshops dedicated to environmental awareness and finding solutions to pollution (Solving a Problem about Environmental Pollution). There was no lack of playful learning moments, such as the ‘Which is not’ activity, which was useful for recognising and distinguishing between different text types.
Alongside the educational activities, cultural visits played a key role such as archaeological visits, which allowed participants to immerse themselves in the region’s rich history and landscape. In Pamukkale, with its spectacular travertine waterfalls and natural thermal pools, teachers can admire the remains of the ancient city of Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In Ephesus, one of the most important cities of Roman Asia Minor, the group strolled around the majestic Ancient Theatre, the Library of Celsus, and along the cobblestone streets that still tell the story of classical civilization. These experiences enriched the educational programme, uniting knowledge, history, and culture, fostering shared growth.
The Denizli mobility concluded the ‘I AM HERE TOO’ project. Over the course of the project, teachers from different countries were able to compare and experiment with new inclusive teaching strategies. This strengthened the European dimension of education, placing collaboration and intercultural exchange at the centre.
